"[...] I highly recommend joining SCI to my peers because it provides valuable networking opportunities, and a platform for sharing ideas and research."
What are your research interests?
My research is on exploring nature based solutions (agroforestry and co-cropping) over conventional practices to increase yields in the agrifood sector while promoting ecological and environmental sustainability. I’m using a combination of environmental tracers (stable water isotopes) and hydrological modelling in the research.
How did you first get involved with SCI?
I initially became involved with SCI through the Sydney Andrews Scholarship in 2022 and have since been an active member of the SCI Scotland Group Committee. I highly recommend joining SCI to my peers because it provides valuable networking opportunities, and a platform for sharing ideas and research. Additionally, being a member offers access to the latest developments in science research through SCI's magazine.
SCI aims to be ‘where science meets business’. What is the potential commercial application of your research?
My research would provide vital knowledge on viable co-cropping and agroforestry systems that could be of value for industrial implementation, especially in temperate climates.
What do you hope to gain from your involvement with SCI?
I hope to meet more peers in the academia, grow my network, and meet industrial researchers.
