"[...] I encourage people to join SCI as you can learn more about the science around us, it gives you an idea of the role of science in our lives. "
What are your research interests?
I am interested in organic chemistry, particularly the organic synthesis as it fascinates me how the reaction mechanisms work to produce the molecules. I am also interested in nuclear physics and astrophysics.
How did you first get involved with SCI?
I got involved with the first event, ‘Common salt’, where I learnt about the origin of salt and how different parts of the world use salt and how important it is. I encourage people to join SCI as you can learn more about the science around us, it gives you an idea of the role of science in our lives.
What do you hope to gain from your involvement with SCI?
I hope to study more about organic chemistry synthesis, as this is something I would like to work on in the future. Other than that, I would also like to improve my networking skills by making new friends who have similar interests as me in organic chemistry. And I also want to develop my communication skills, as well as building my confidence at the same time.
