Synopsis
This one-day event focuses on introducing the fundamentals of process chemistry and aims to be both accessible for those with no prior experience in the challenges of developing scalable syntheses and engaging for attendees with some experience seeking a more thorough understanding.

Speakers from across industry and academia will address key topics in detail, as well as introducing new technologies and innovations that are transforming the scale-up process. In addition to talks, there will be opportunities for wider engagement, with a panel discussion and opportunities for networking.

Topics to be covered include:

· Process research & development: Route scouting vs delivery projects
· Environmental and safety considerations
· Process reproducibility
· Process engineering: Reactor types, mixing, heat transfer, etc.
· Flow chemistry
· Automation, data generation and analysis (HTE, DoE)
· Solid-state considerations (crystallisations and polymorphs)

Attendees
The event is aimed at anyone with an interest in learning about the scaling up of synthetic processes (for example, but not limited to: early-career professionals, students and people with a recent or possible career move towards process chemistry). Some prior knowledge or experience in synthetic chemistry (on mg to g scale) would aid understanding.
Programme

The full programme will be confirmed in due course.

SCI’s Young Chemists’ Panel are committed to promoting diversity and equality in the chemical sciences. We aim to identify high quality speakers for all our conferences with inclusivity of gender and ethnicity. Attendees from all backgrounds and ages are welcome.
