The SCI Canada Group is pleased to announce that nominations for the 2023 Canada Medal are now open.
The Canada Medal is awarded annually to a business leader for outstanding service in Canadian industry, who has had a clearly positive impact on a business that is based on chemistry for its processes and/or services, and the Canadian industry as a whole.
This definition includes not only traditional chemical companies focusing on chemical manufacture and distribution, but also industries such as bio-technology, coatings, crop protection, environmental services, fertilisers, food, mining/metal extraction, oil/gas, pharmaceuticals, plastics, pulp and paper and synthetic fibres.
This is the first time that the Canada Medal, established in 1939, will be nominated via open call. The winner will be formally honoured at an in-person dinner in Toronto on 18 April 2023. The event will bring together key members of the chemical and industrial community in Canada to celebrate the achievements of both the SCI Canada Award winners and Student Merit Award Winners.
Since its formation in 1902, SCI Canada has recognised achievements in the Canadian chemical industry and has presented awards in order to bolster the drive for innovation.
