Laila Ikki is currently pursuing a Master's degree in computer science at Lakehead University, having previously earned an Honours Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics from the same institution. Passionate about the intersection of natural and computer sciences, Laila's undergraduate thesis applied machine learning to investigate the relationship between the delocalisation index and bond order. She presented her work to students and faculty during Lakehead's Research and Innovation Week, ranking first among oral presentation contestants.
Beyond academia, she contributes to the university community as a committee member of the Lakehead Muslim Students Association and has provided translation services for the local French centre.
