Pamela Esther Libfeld is a 2017 Canada Student Merit Award winner. She achieved this award for obtaining the highest standing of her class in the fourth and final year of her degree. Here is a brief biography of the winner.
My name is Pamela Libfeld and I am the recipient of the SCI Canada Student Merit Award 2017. I graduated from Western University in 2017 with an Honours Specialization in Chemistry.
I humbly received the Albert E. Wells Scholarship and the James D. McNabb Scholarship in Chemistry for attaining the highest academic average in my program in second and third year, respectively. I also received the Andrew E. Scott Medal and Prize for completing the Chemistry program with the highest average over the course of the program.
I thoroughly enjoyed studying chemistry during my undergraduate studies and have grown academically and personally throughout the process. At Western University, I enjoyed being a part of one of the university’s competitive dance teams This is London, and being involved with a club on campus called Western Hillel. I have been fortunate to participate on several Habitat for Humanity missions in West Virginia, Hawaii and Prince Edward Island.
I am currently in my first year at the Optometry program at the University of Waterloo. I am looking forward to one day practising the skills I am learning and improving the lives of my own patients.
