The British Carbon Group continues the long and distinguished history of the SCI Industrial Carbon and Graphite Group, which began under Professors Leo Ubbelohde, Henry Marsh and other noted scientists in 1965.
The Group merged with the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and Institute of Physics (IoP) joint Carbon Group in 1994 to form its present profile.
The Group is part of the European Carbon Association and works closely with affiliated groups in France, Germany, Spain and Poland, as well as maintaining academic and industrial contacts worldwide. We publish a newsletter twice a year which can be downloaded from the British Carbon website.
