Pharmaceutical company becomes the latest SCI corporate partner.
Leading global innovation hub SCI is pleased to announce a partnership agreement with Pfizer UK. The Surrey-headquartered company is a major supplier of medicines to the NHS. It has had a 70-year presence in the UK, working across healthcare organisations to deliver on its purpose of breakthroughs that change patients’ lives in the UK and around the world.
Pfizer has a longstanding commitment to UK science, with over £1.5 billion invested in UK R&D since 2016. During 2022, it forged over a hundred R&D collaborations with universities, pharmaceutical companies, industries, and others across the UK.
Partnering with SCI will enable Pfizer to further expand existing networks to boost innovation as it recognises that collaboration is crucial to unlocking medical breakthroughs including better understanding disease and developing targeted treatments.
Gemma Scotney, Director, UK Process Chemistry at Pfizer said:
‘Pfizer is proud to have the opportunity to be part of the SCI corporate partnership, a close network of over 15 cross-industry organisations. The partnership has great diversity in terms of size and industry, and we feel it will give us the opportunity to collaborate on early-stage R&D approaches, understand common challenges, innovate together and collectively drive forward and direct key areas of focus across the technical and specialist interest groups.’
The agreement will assist Pfizer in further driving innovation through collaboration via access to SCI’s leading-edge training and development programmes, international networks, digital platforms, conferences and portfolio of publications including SCI’s well established C&I magazine.
SCI also runs cutting edge conferences and events and has recently launched new industry focused awards recognising excellence in Sustainability and Innovation through Partnership.
