Yesterday’s Bright SCIdea Challenge final was a roaring success, with six excellent pitches that left our judges with an incredibly difficult decision to make.
The winners of the £1,000 prize were UCL’s Glucoguard – Camillo Moschner, Jack O’Shea and Libby Linfield – who impressed with their innovative business based on a genetically modified bacterium for the treatment of type II diabetes.

As well as the competition itself, the day provided many opportunities for students, early-career professionals, academics, entrepreneurs, and industry figures to make new connections, as well as inspirational talks and training from our judges and supporters of the competition.
A full writeup of the event will be published next week, but for now, head over to today’s SCIBlog for a gallery of images from the final!
