Joanne Lyall awarded Honorary SCI Membership

12 Jan 2016

SCI is pleased to announce that Joanne Lyall has been awarded an SCI Honorary Membership.

Joanne was Executive Director at SCI from June 2010 - November 2013. Joanne joined SCI with experience across a range of sectors, including membership organisations, regeneration, and economic development, international trade development, and inward investment, as well as private sector manufacturing.

The key skills she brought to SCI were business development, marketing and partnership working, together with broader strategic and general management expertise. This was well reflected in the work that Joanne did to establish SCI as a key player in our community.

Joanne was integral to SCI’s involvement in the Chemistry Growth Partnership. She also established collaborative relationships with key organisations such as the American Chemical Society, the Chemical Industries Association, the Daphne Jackson Trust and Sense About Science all of which are still active SCI partners.

Since leaving SCI, Joanne has maintained her membership and contact with the organisation.

Joanne has recently taken up a post at Massey University as Stakeholder Management Director which will offer further opportunities for her to strengthen her networks across the academic and scientific sectors.

We thank Joanne for her continued involvement with SCI and look forward to working with her to build our outreach in New Zealand.
