Members' Directory - making the right connections

17 Jan 2014

As you take some time to reflect at the start of a new year, you may start to think about who you have been in touch with and who you know, why not also consider who you might be able to get to know?

By being an active user of the SCI Members' Directory, you will have the opportunity to network with more than 2,000 people who have a shared interest in the application of chemistry and related sciences.

Completing your Members' Directory profile
We recommend that you start by reviewing and updating your profile. It is the perfect way for you to showcase your skills and experience, and your achievements. The fuller your profile, the more likely it is that you will be contacted by other members with a common interest.

You can update your profile on the SCI website. Simply log in and you will be taken directly to your profile. You can make changes by clicking on the 'Edit' link or by using the links in the left hand menu bar. You will be able to make changes to existing information and add more detail. You will also have the opportunity to add a photograph.

If you would like our help to update your profile, please complete the My Profile form and return it to web@soci.org. You can download the form from our website from the Members' Directory area. Or you can email us at communications@soci.org and we will send you a copy.

Searching for other members
Once you are happy with your profile, you can start to connect with other members. The search function will help you find other members who you have something in common with. You can search for people by name or country of residence. You can also look for people by their selected interests or based on the technical or regional interest groups that they are a member of. We have also included a text search function to enable you to refine your search.

Connecting with members
The Members' Directory messaging system allows you to send a private message to another member in a secure environment. Your email address will not be shared, unless you choose to do so in your message.
